Illuminate Colorado Is Seeking a Family Connects Medical Director (POSITION FILLED)

Illuminate Colorado is seeking a Family Connects Medical Director to lead the State Intermediary functions related to medical and clinical leadership in partnership with the demonstration and local communities in Colorado.

Family Connects is an evidence-based approach to supporting all newborns and their families. As a universal home visitation model, Family Connects implementation is designed to create mechanisms, building on local community capacity and interests, that will provide all new parents, prenatally or at birth, systematic opportunities to discuss and learn about their concerns and be connected to the parent support resources available in their communities. The home visits are performed by registered nurses and include both an infant and maternal physical assessment, with the infant assessment being more comprehensive. As the state intermediary, Illuminate Colorado is partnering with Family Connects International to work with communities to plan for the model’s implementation and sustainability across Colorado.

Qualifications: M.D., D.O.

Area of Specialty: Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Family Medicine

Compensation & Schedule: At least 0.1 FTE is necessary for this role to begin, with the potential to increase according to the scaling of the implementation of the program within Colorado. Illuminate Colorado is open to various staffing structures (individual contract, contract with another employer, hourly employee, etc.) in order to best meet the needs of the program and the candidate.

The ideal candidate will be able to create and edit quality content, able to clearly and effectively communicate in writing and orally and have strong administrative and organizational skills. He/She/They will provide support with project management, social media, events, PR, administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.

    Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

      • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
      • Strong social media engagement and content development skills.
      • Highly proficient with MS Office applications, (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Google Workspace (e.g. Google Docs, Gmail, Docs, Drive, Slides); project management tools, constituent management tools, (e.g. Constant Contact or MailChimp) and website platforms (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, SquareSpace, Weebly)
      • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and manage tasks simultaneously; ability to work independently and collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
      • Highly organized and detail oriented, has initiative and follow-through to execute projects from initial state through completion, including tracking and reporting.
      • Ability to build, manage and sustain relationships with internal staff, board members, volunteers, and stakeholders through professional, effective, and timely communication.

    One to three years of external communications, journalism, or other related experience. Equivalent combinations of experience/education will be considered. Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Fluency in Spanish preferred.

              Compensation: This is a full-time position eligible for benefits. Starting salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience in the range of $40,000 – $50,000. A retention stipend of $1500 is available for this position. The successful candidate will receive a partial stipend at 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days of employment upon the successful completion of all trainings, including but not limited to RV Driver Training, RV Equipment Training, all required PDIS trainings, and CPR/First Aid.

              This position will be required to travel to service locations in the Denver Metro area. Mileage will be reimbursed. A cell phone will be needed to complete necessary duties regarding this position. At this time a cell phone stipend will not be provided. Flexibility to work a pre-set alternating schedule that will include opening and closing center hours with possibility of occasional evenings and weekends. The start and ending hours can range from 7:30am to 9:00pm.

                Experience, Skills, and Qualifications include:

                • At least five years experience implementing an evidence based program or experience in implementation science, understanding of model fidelity
                • Training and practical experience with project management
                • Experience scaling maternal child health, home visitation, public health, or social service initiatives
                • Deep understanding of community health systems
                • Understanding of policy affecting early childhood initiatives, familiarity with Medicaid reimbursement, value-based payment systems
                • Commitment to advancing social and racial equity through collective action.
                • Excellent oral and written communication skills
                • Demonstrated ability to manage collaborative projects, including balancing deadlines with community processes
